Bringing the Good News - Day One

Day One
It is Saturday morning as we approach Munich. The Sun is rising over the eastern horizon and playing on my headphones a familiar but fitting song, “how great thou art.” Asia is what lies ahead. We have a two hour lay over and then board another seven hour flight. The team is full of life and a fitting bunch. They reflect the new life of New Hope of late. The growth in the church has been exciting and much younger. Our team consists of Katie 24, Beau 23, Brad 30, Charmonique 25, Joie younger than…well, Darryl the old man of 50 something and me a wanna be 30-year-old. I can’t wait to see how God uses this trip in their lives. For me this first step of faith traveling to India changed everything in 2012.
As I peer out my window I feel like I am catching a glimpse of how God sees the world. This world belongs to Him and was created by Him and for Him. The affairs of man really are in His hands. How can they not be? It is a comfort to me this morning to think about this. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t have at least a little fear about where we are going. It is comforting to know that He is far above it all and that He sees it all and He cares for me. Why? Because He loves me. Sandy and I have a picture in our house that says, “the will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.” No matter what happens I am safely in His hands. Praise God for that.
