Read 1 Peter 3:9-13. Why do you think we still have to suffer even if we are walking in righteousness? See also John 16:33.  

 Read 1 Peter 3:14. How has God called you to courageous faith in this past year? What is something that has kept you from walking in courageous faith in the past or now? Why?  

 
Read Jeremiah 1:1-8. What can we learn from what God tells Jeremiah about this?  

 
Read 1 Peter 3:15. What does it mean to revere Christ as Lord in our hearts?  

 
How do we revere Christ as Lord by what we say and do? How does New Hope’s vision slogan fit into this? (Advancing hope one soul at a time)  

Read 1 Peter 3:16-17. What did Matt say were the two things that contribute to a bad conscience? Do you agree? How have you experienced this in your own life?  

 How have you experienced suffering that you know is a direct result of your obedience to God? Share and then spend time thanking Him for it. Pray together for courage like they did in Acts 4:23-30.
