Life Group questions 

1. This letter that Peter wrote was written to the persecuted church. How should this shape our understanding of the message of the letter?  

1. Read 1 Peter 5:6-7. What truth is the umbrella over the exhortation here? See the end of verse 7. Have you ever had a moment in your life when you doubted that God cared? Explain.   

1. Read 1 Peter 5:8-9. What kind of schemes has the devil tried against you? How were you able to resist him? How is it helpful to know that the enemy is trying to sabotage you? See Ephesians 6:10-12.  

1. Matt talked about the persecuted church. Did those statistics and reports surprise you? Have you witnessed or do you know someone personally who has suffered for their faith in Jesus? Take 10 minutes and pray for them as a group.  

1. Read 1 Peter 5:10-11. How has God come through for you in your life as you have struggled with fear or anxiety?
