1 Peter: Our Greatest Treasure

Life Group Questions 

Read 1 Peter 1:3-12. Why do you think Peter spends so much of this first chapter highlighting salvation? What stuck out to you most in this passage?  

 Focus on 1 Peter 1:10-12. What do we learn about God in this passage? (See point I. in your outline.) Why is it important to grow in our understanding of who God is?  

 What do we learn about the historical perspective of salvation? What did you learn about the prophet’s understanding of salvation? List as many characters in the Old Testament as you can that point us to Jesus.  

 What is the gospel delivery system? How well do you know the gospel? Spend the rest of the evening breaking down the key components of the gospel.  
God created us and blessed us. Genesis 1:27-28 
We sinned against God, who is Holy. Genesis 3 (the fall), Romans 3:10, 23 

Our sin separates us from God’s presence. Isaiah 59:2 

God loved us so he made a way for us to be saved. John 3:16, Romans 5:6-8 

We have to respond to receive it. Matthew 7:13-14, John 3:36, John 1:12 

How can someone respond? Romans 10:8-10 

Who is God putting on your heart to share this with? Come up with at least one name. Share that name with the group and have the person on your right pray for that person.
