1. What in your mind makes New Hope a healthy community? What has your experience been here?  

1. Read 1 Peter 4:7. Matt used the term “redemptive history.” What does this mean, and can you list the major events in our redemptive history? (What happened in history that led to our redemption, think Genesis to Revelation.)  

1. What does it mean to be alert and sober-minded? Why is this important, according to v.7? What has distracted your mind as you have tried to pray? What did you do to stop it?  

1. Read 1 Peter 4:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-8. Why is love so important in the body of Christ? How have you experienced love from someone you have hurt in the body of Christ? How have you applied love in a situation that was hard? How did God bless you through that?
